What Would You Do?

  • It's 2:30 pm and I head off on my bike for a ride and do some grocery shopping before it starts to pour rain. I go to Super Best (the biggest grocery store near my home – if you can call it big).

  • Head over to the bread section and pick up some hamburger buns. Now on to the meat section--What? No mince meat left? There’s some mince lamb? But no beef! Oh well, I guess they ran out on a Thursday afternoon at 2:30 pm? So then I think, okay chicken breasts. Guess what? No chicken breasts left. So I think turkey—yep, you guessed it,--No turkey left! All I could see were some wings, legs, and a whole chicken.

  • I guess, I could head off to Super Brugson (another big one not too far away which usually has more meat). But the sky is getting black and it’s going to come down in buckets and I am on my bike so I head home very frustrated.

  • So I get home and unpack my 120$ worth of groceries (which fits in my Knapsack – to give you and idea of the outrageous prices).

  • I pop an aspirin because I have a headache (I always get headaches when I go grocery shopping here) and I call Andy and ask him to stop by at Aldis (a ½ super market that carries some products but not everything) to see if he can get some chicken or beef. He will most likely have no luck because he works later then most people and everything will be sold out by the time he gets there. So I will head out tomorrow, this time to super brugson on my quest to get my beef and chicken.

Weird, strange, unbelievable you are probably thinking???.
Yep, it sure is! But this is not new to me! I have had this happen to me time and time again: One day I was making a spinach cannelloni for a girl’s dinner night and I had to go to 7 stores on my bike to find ricotta cheese. When I want to make a pizza, there is no more pepperoni, sauce or even pizza dough left. My favourite 6% cheese is always sold out!

And the golden rule here is if you see something special, buy it now, as it will be gone and they might not have it again for a long time or ever!.

I could go on and on, but I am just too tired!
Grocery shopping here Totally Stresses me Out & Makes me Agro!

Have a Great Day! I am going to pour myself a nice drink now...lol
and take the good with the bad!

Dezine Design - I am one of their featured painters!

Hello everyone, I am really delighted to announce that I was selected as one of the featured painters at Dezine Design, a wonderful Design Site with great animal designs and also helping out very creative artists without any computer/internet access.

I was referred to as:"Lisa Lorenz - the Queen of Color - need I say more? (...wonderful flowers & stylized cityscapes...)"

To see the Raw Talent Section please click this Link: Dezine Design's Raw Talent page which showcases a selection of artistic people around the world who (in our unashamedly personal opinion!) are doing exceptional work in their respective creative fields. The purpose of Raw Talent is to inspire...nothing more, nothing less...but if you love the work of these artists, as we do, why not buy some of their clever creations? They are selective about whom they choose to partner with, and only select Partners whom we believe are doing something truly original, and whose work will compliment that of our other Partners who are already published on this site. So, if your work stands out above the rest, please email us your web link and we'll take a look, and hopefully add your link to our site! We maintain the sole right to select Partners at our own discretion. To visit their website click this Banner:

Lubeck Getaway

Hi everyone, I am back in Copenhagen and I had a really nice little trip to Lubeck, Germany.

It was a relaxing break from painting and the daily routine. We really enjoyed this little picturesque city near the East Baltic Sea. We stayed at the SAS Radisson along the canal and had a wonderful view from our hotel room.

Despite the weather being pretty lousy, we had a great time. We took a boat tour, explored pretty much every inch of this charming city and ate some wonderful food and did a bit of shopping. The marzipan store was wonderful to visit and Andreas loves it, so he bought quite a bit of this sweet German Treat.

A few pictures from our little getaway:

Happy Birthday Cutie!

Today is my wonderful Husband's Birthday!

Poor guy, he has to work late tonight so we will not be going out. But for a late dinner I will make him one of his favourite meals: Pork Tenderloin in a mushroom sauce over egg noodles and of course some Bubbly!

Canada Day Celebration in Copenhagen

Hi Everyone, has been awhile since my last entry. Not much has been going on lately and we have been having some pretty lousy weather. Oh well, hoping to get some nice weather soon. I have been quite busy working on many new paintings, revamped my webpage, and made some new products at my Zazzle shop.

We had a wonderful Canada Day celebration last Sunday in Copenhagen. The picnic was held at Leslie and Dave's private home. They were wonderful hosts. There was lots of yummy foods made by Canadian expats that reminded me so much of home along with a wonderful grill of hamburgers and sausages and of course Canadian Beer. We had a super time and it was the nicest day that we have had since my last post on June 20th...lol.
Here are few pics from the Day!
